Chocolate, dark berries, mocha, white pepper, long long drying finish...lovely niagara syrah
Low intensity aromas of ripe dark fruits, oak, and some spice. Medium-bodied with currant and minty notes on palate. Mouth-watering acidity and quite smooth, integrated tannins throughout. Tasted Jan/2013.
A pretty dark purple hue in the glass leads your nose to bison pastrami, sweet chipotle and coriander seeds. Mineral notes reveal a hint of ash and cold unburned campfire logs. Fruit emerges on the palate in the way of warm summer blueberries, served just cool from the fridge. The tannins are firm, as are the acids, giving the wine enough frame work to sit well in the cellar for a few years. Check back here in a couple years and drink nicely from 2015 to 2018+.
