Interested by this one simple due to never having tried Chilean carignan. Nothing delicate about this one. Opaque in the glass, the nose is dominated by dark cherry, blackberry, anise, and a hint of leafy herbaceousness and pepper notes. In the mouth, it's a big and juicy wine that has a reasonable amount of acidity and quite grippy tannins with some of the green notes becoming more apparent on the long finish. Excellent bottle to try with grilled or braised red meat, on its own on a cold winter night, or with a wine geek so you can say you've tried carignan from Chile. Tasted December 2012.
