Not a wine for the timid!! Lots of dark fruit (blackberry and fig) along with cedar, forest floor, and leathery notes on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, this wine has refreshing acidity and is incredibly tannic (a trademark of tannat). Definitely not for fans of soft New World fruitbombs, but a truly well made, interesting wine. Lay this one down for a few years if you to really enjoy its full potential. Otherwise, decant it and pair it with a steak. Tasted November 2012.
I enjoy old world wines and tannins but after an hour of decanting this one was still very dry and acidic. I couldn't finish the glass I poured.
Another day another go, I decanted for about 3 hours and it was much better. I agree with other comments, it is not fruit forward and could be better in a few years. Tasted Dec 2012
