for a budget under $20 bucks, look no further. This wine is really approachable for those looking to brake away from the new world and experience an entry level Bordeaux. It's a tad light and almost drinks oddly enough like a burgundy (did anybody else think that?). Really funky, woodsy and well made. Loved it.
Deep garnet-purple coloured, it offers intensely scented aromas of black cherry, casis and plum pudding with some presence of oak. Full bodied with high amount of acid. Finish with good persistence, but a little bit closed and tannic in the mouth at this stage.
This should improve over the next 2-4 years.
Tasted October 2012.
