Incredibly zippy and intense sauvignon. As John Szabo stated, there's nothing subtle about this. It's medium-bodied, delivering tons of lemon, lime, and pink grapefruit aromas along with fresh cut grass and a bit of green pepper. It has a richness and spiciness on the palate long with a nice long finish that was somewhat unexpected considering the price. Really enjoyed this. Top-notch value. Tasted October 2012.
Nice vegetal character of peas and cabbage on the nose and palate, but fresh with a little smokiness and minerals on a nice long finish.
Expect typical Sauvignon blanc profile ... grapefruit etc... but intensely zippy and with an added depth of sweet fresh herbs especially on the nose. Despite the intensity, it feels balanced and has a quite pleasant and very long finish.
A citrus infusion of flavour intensity. Serious verve and good kick for the price. Expect grapefruit, lemon grass, lime, and a funky sort of spice to finish it off. I’ve had comparable Sauvignon from New Zealand for twice the price. This style will stand up to many stronger flavoured dishes. Try it with Asian or curried foods. Tasted Oct 2012
Obviously a well-made wine, but it leans a little too heavily to the herbaceous/grassy/canned peas side for my taste. As it happens, I tasted the 2012 edition of this wine at the Tarapaca winery earlier this year, and I liked it a lot - it had more tropical fruit character to balance that aggressive herbaceousness. Alas, the 2012 has not appeared on the LCBO shelves, and who knows if it ever will?
