The consensus sounds right...not sure if I will buy a case as RPJ suggests, but if I get a few more I will cellar them a year or 2.
Amazing for $18.
This is what I think of when I think of affordable Southern Rhone wine. Ripe, almost raisined, fruit along with a spice and garrigue notes. Medium-full bodied with surprisingly fresh acidity and grippy tannins, this has a beautiful, long finish. If you want to drink now and have the time, give it an hour in the decanter and fire up the BBQ. Otherwise, lay it down for a couple years. Either way, it's an enjoyable bottle of wine
This wine opened up with aromas of plumy-wild berry fruit, licorice, incense, toasty and black pepper notes. On the mouthfeel, dry, medium-full bodied and smooth with concentrated flavours, savoury, mild acidity and firm tannins. The finish is medium length with flavours of black fruit, savoury herbs and spicy. This is exactly what I expect from a nice Côtes du Rhône, easy drinking with great flavours, and at this price, a great buy. Strongly recommended
