Nose is big, bold dark fruit, slight dusty smoke,light funk. Adds some sweet berry and smoke as it warms. Palate is plush dark fruits with hint of stewed plums. Tannins stronger than the '07 but still very mild. Finish is slightly sour cherry.

A bit more fruit than the '07 and '08, but still loaded by notes of pepper and spice, along with hints of black olives. Very syrah. Nicely done and a fine value. Tasted August 2012.
