This is bright, deep ruby coloured. The nose is very piquant, crammed with fresh crushed blackcurrants, eucalyptus,...

Well-oaked, but not overwhelmingly so. After a few sips, certain cherry / blackberry notes become prominent. Very creamy mouthfeel. Great wine.

Dark ruby in colour with medium+ intensity on the nose.

Positives: The Max Reserva Cab is a fairly complex wine and unusual for such complexity at under $20, and even better when the LCBO puts it on sale a couple of times throughout the year. The 2010 vintage features cedar, cassis, menthol, cloves, dark cherry, pencil shavings, leather, spinach leaves, red & black currants. Medium to full body with medium+ tannins, good acidity and a long length.

Negatives: None

Interesting Things: The Max Reserva Cab is consistently year in & year out a best buy.

Drink on its own or pair it with a T-bone steak.

Tasted: 6 Sept 12

This is a big effort, great with a grilled steak or strong cheese. Very nice.

Great, smooth, oaky full-bodied Cab. Paired well with BBQ meat but you can drink on its own as well. Tasted June 2013.

There comes a time when you can't say you are surprised. The Colchagua valley is consistently delivering great Cab Sauvignons, and the Max Reserve from Errazuriz is one of them. The nose greets you with berries and spices, the full body delights the palate and the nicely balanced acidity and tannins wrap up a robust and very self-confident wine. I paired it with some pork tenderloin roasted with a crust of fennel, rosemary, and garlic, and it worked beautifully.

Cassis, black cherry, smokiness, spices on the nose. It has lots and lots of fruit and soft tannins, but some bitterness on the palate.

Also contains 9% Cab Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Low intensity aromas of pepper, cassis and blackcurrants. Simple red and black fruit flavours on a medium-full bodied frame. Soft dusty tannins and a short finish. Was expecting better. Bad bottle/batch? This red wine didn't appeal to anyone I spoke to. I wouldn't mind tasting this again. Tasted Sept/2013.
