This Chianti Classico is fleshy, full-bodied and quite concentrated for the price. One could mistake this for a young...

This medium bodied wine from a Tuscan property in the heart of the Chianti hills is largely sangiovese with some...

Was surely not decanted from a straw flask into this sleek and marketable bottle. A precocious and gregarious ruffle...

The hard part going in was "how much wood will there be?" Fortunately, not a massive wood surfboard but rather like a tasty tongue depressor. I got cinnamon, dried fruit, new style, and what you get is a shiny move away from rustic chianti, which may slightly outclass your average pizza night but could go well with osso bucco. I can down past the shoulders before I notice how much I've had.

Great value for a Chianti. Unlike Lawrason I find the wine has charm and has a fine balance of fruit

Not bad, not great, but the inexpensive price tag makes it worth a try. Lots of red and blackberry fruit (more dried than fresh) notes along with a a bit of floral and sweet spice notes. Really juicy on the palate, medium-full bodied, with medium acidity and quite grippy tannins. This has very good length on the finish. Enjoyed this, but was hoping for something just a little more interesting. Tasted November 2012.

I get red berry fruit on the shnoz and I even picked up the "bandaid" scent as identified by Lawrason, but not in an unpleasant way. The fruit continues on the palate with a hint of cocoa and some mustiness. Medium body feel. Tannins kick in nicely with good overall structure and decent length. Hot alcohol takes over towards the end but does not detract from the finish. This went really well with vegetarian lasagna and would create a real shmeck factor with any pasta in a tomato based sauce.

It's only wine but I like it

A decnt red from Tuscany but a bit of a curiousity for me. The fruit and wood seem in balance yet I don't get a strong sense of regional character. It just strikes me a bit unexciting....could have been made anywhere. Tasted June 2012.
