Lovely aromas of citrus, oak, nut and hints of spice. One the palate, peach, apple, citrus and oak mingle together with racy acidity and finishing long. Medium-bodied. Tastes and feels more expensive. Excellent summer appertif, but can also be paired with lightly seasoned salmon. Tasted May/2012.
Look out for Australian Chardonnay's over the next few years starting with this Grant Burge. Now a general list at the LCBO. Some sour notes but balanced with med-high acidity and ripe lemon and apple flavours. Great old world style Chardonnay.
The 2010 Grant Burge Summers Chardonnay is fresh wine with appealing aromas of light citrus, green pear and barely noticeable oak. It was aged in French casks for 12 months, giving it a nice structure with refreshing acidity, subtle tannins and a clean, mineral finish of medium length. It is ready to drink while young and will also benefit from cellaring for few years. It can stand alone as a sipping wine as well as is food friendly - try with grilled calamari. My impression: NICE, 88 pts. Tasted May/12.

I loved this wine. It was refined and complex. Very well made especdially for the price. The oak is very subtle and well-integrated so that the wonderful citrus and stone fruit shows through.
