The sour cherry taste reminds me of a syrah from the south of France. I would never guess this was a Malbec. Lots of flavour up front, but not much finish. I am not as enthusiastic as the other reviewers, but it is quite nice.
Deep, concentrated fruit and that characteristic floral signature that I've come to associate with the better Argentinian malbecs. As I think JS is indicating above, this wine is like a gentle giant, huge flavour but rounded, complex and deceptively delicate. The floral component puts many of my wine drinking companions off (an acquired taste perhaps) but all will agree this is a well made, conversation worthy wine.
An excellent choice at under $20.00 Tasted December 2012.
