I gave this a shot because it was on sale for only $8 - had never tried Viognier ... I was extremely impressed. One of my favourite white wines! I'm a convert to Viognier. I don't have the proficiency for detecting the peach and grapefuit notes, etc., but this has a lovely bouquet, it's got legs, and it has a lot of taste when you let it sit on your tongue. Very pleased.
Very smooth, with just the right amount of Viognier bite. This would be a great value at twice the price. Don't miss out on this.
Medium+ straw colour with a medium intense nose.
Positives: A pleasant drinking wine which features apricots, grapefruit, lime, apple & limestone. Medium body wine with good acidity, medium+ length & the alcohol is well integrated.
Negatives: A touch sour on the finish.
Interesting Point: Cono Sur is one of the top wine companies making good & inexpensive wines.
Drink now on its own or pair it with any potato dish, like potato chips, fries etc.

Out of 5 stars, I rated this wine: 4
A steal at this price (or maybe I'm just paying too much for the other wines I enjoy?). Loads of character - beautiful orchard fruit nose with a touch of sweet floral notes. The palate, while still loaded with honey, leans a bit more to citrus adding a nice bite of acidity. This is a gorgeous summer sipper with complexity well above the mean at this price and, I'm guessing, very broad appeal. Can't go wrong.

Great value, little acidic to my liking but it is great when it's chilled. It also felt slightly like a sparkling white which I enjoyed.
Shockingly good value. Tasted great with Lobster cakes in a restaurant. Impossible to go wrong for this price.
Note...the 'cono sur' pun is a bit silly...
Medium straw colour with generous honeysuckle, tropical fruits and a note of roast ham. Dry, medium-full bodied and with ample acidity for structure. Good length. Great value!
Peaches, spices, nuts, and floweriness on the nose. Floral and tropical fruit tones on the palate with a crisp acidity. Excellent quality at the price.
This is the first time I've tried Viognier and I don't normally drink white wine, preferring reds. At first all I smelled and tasted was peaches and that is certainly the dominant scent and flavour for me but I would agree the finish is pure grapefruit. The wine has a heavier, butterier, rounder flavour and body than I prefer in a white and leaves a sharp, acidic, alcoholic taste in my mouth which is not my preference either. i find the flavour too one dimensional for me but other reviewers have cited other flavour notes in this wine that I can't detect. It has a very good length but the residual flavour is overly bitter and alcoholic for my tastes. However, others may find these to be good features and apparently they do.
