Maycas is a fairly new, small Limari Valley winery owned by Concha Y Toro. This cabernet shows the cooler climate...

Nice balance & structure is this grippy full bodied cab with a touch of syrah to add a peppery finish to the classic cabernet notes. I really liked the cedar/ tobacco notes. great wine - I highly recommend!

The 2007 Maycas Del Limarí Especial Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied, fruity to INTEGRATED wine, with intense aromas of black currant, blackberry, coconut and vanilla. Tannins are refined (decant for 30-60 min) and the finish is medium to long and smooth. Drink now or hold for 5-10 years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 89.5 pts - another fine example by Concha Y Toro. Recommended buy. Tasted Feb/12.

This is a deep and dark Cabernet. Black current, earthy and slight vanilla nose. A brooding smokey, earthy palate held together by a core of black fruit all in a nice balance. There is still a bit of tannin here and I'm betting this will taste quite special in a few years. Very nice.

This wine is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and blended with 12% Syrah, the result of course adds extra layers of flavours and complexity. Aging took place in French oak barrels for 16 months, than 8 months in bottles before release. Very robust aromatics with dark plums, blueberries, blackcurrants, cedar, underbrush, black pepper and vanilla notes. On the mouthfeel, this Cabernet is medium-full bodied (with 14.5% alc.) with loads of flavour, well integrated oak, fresh acidity and firm tannins. This wine has a medium to long finish, very rich and smooth. What I like about this wine is that it can easily be paired with food like steak, roast beef or lamb or just as enjoyable on its own. Drinking well now or hold mid term 2-3 years in your cellar. Very nice wine here and strongly recommended.

This wine packed well above it's price point and was delicious. This beats the pants off many a $40 bottle of Napa Cab in my mind. Only wish I had more...would be really interested in seeing how this one would age.

On the nose it smelled a bit green however, I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted it! It had a lot to it. Great fruit, acidity, cedar notes and above all, superb length. Terrific wine for the $.
