Nice colour and beautiful nose of cassis and dried herbs. Palate is simpler and without a lot of concentration, but its bright and balanced and a great pair for basic Italian fare.
Quite deeply coloured for a Sangiovese-based wine. Ripe red fruits with firm acidity and a bit austere/youthful at the moment. While not top shelf Chianti, this represents good value. Needs a year or two to soften. Tasted Feb 2012.
