An intriguing, complex and mouthfilling Cabernet fron the Serie Riberas label of Concho Y Toro. Exotic oak spice...

This is a deep black cabernet, with a very rich, ripe but not overripe nose of blackberry, cedar, pepper and dark...

Clearly a cooler climate cabernet here: lively, herbal, vegetal and fresh, with zesty acid and juicy fruit-acid....

The 2009 Concha Y Toro Serie Riberas Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium to full bodied, FRUITY to integrated wine, with intense aromas of dominating sandalwood, blackberry and black cherry on the nose and cedar and vanilla on the palate. It has a nice structure with nice acidity, refined tannins (decant for 1 hour to fully open up) and medium to long, chalky finish. Good to drink now, but should be at its best 2014 to 2018 and beyond. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90-91 pts - a recommended wine - another fine example and at great price from Concha Y Toro. Stock up! Tasted Jan/12.

Blackcurrant, lead pencil shavings, herbs, and cedar on the nose. On the palate you will find soft tannins and ripe dark fruit. The wine is beautifully balanced and fantastic value at the price.

Lovin this wine! Both the nose and palate are impressive. It's a big fruity wine that not shy on oak, but it's contained with incredible balance. Terroir meets crowd pleaser? $15 bucks and hits 90 pts for real. Nice job.

Just recently exploring South American Cab Savs. Recently I have been enjoying a similarly priced bottle from Chile:Perez Cruz. This wine seems even smoother and is more lush and fruity.

An excellent cab at the price, with balance, size, complexity and personality (with no funky flavours) that would make it a good deal for $20 or more. Not a boring smoothie

Still holding just fine in early '14, should have bought a case
