Every bit as good as the reviews suggest, and then some! Definitely would have mistaken for a Barolo. It's big and complex with lovely fruit. Extreme acidity make it a touch strident, and tannins still a bit rough, so suspect a few hours of decanting would help, as would another 5 years or more of aging. Nicely complex, extremely long finish and delicious all the same!
Wow, Barolo for 18 bucks! And it is ready to drink now.
I was pleasantly surprised when I was told what I was drinking. Could have fooled me if I was told it was Italian. At $18 this wine will be poured in the near future in my house :)

Structured, backwards, staunchly old world, and a little funky.
Notes of plum, earth, smoke, and tons of bacon. Drinking well now and pairs beautifully with food.. an excellent value.
