Earthy, currant, cassis and oak aromas from the glass with more currant/cassis, and black fruit notes on the medium-full bodied palate. Quite bitter tasting. A touch of spiciness at mid-length. Tannins would allow ageing another 2 years or so, but drinking well right now. Quite good. Tasted Dec/2011.
wow what an odd ball wine this is. The nose offers sweet cherries, blackberries, smoky oak, caremel and vanilla. The palate is totally disjointed and awkward. it starts sweet and smooth and finishes extremely I mean mega dry and bitter - like you just chewed up a nasty sour cherry pit and sucked on a harsh day old black tea bag. Give it a try...lol
