Lovely blackberry, mocha, wet earth, flower aromas. Palate has ripe fruit with raspberry at the fore. Dry with a touch of tannin. Medium-bodied. Will pair nicely with the spicy, creamy chicken dish that I will be enjoying tonight. Tasted Sept/2011.

The 2007 Tierra Alta Reserva Carmenère is a medium to full bodied, FRUITY to integrated wine with nice aromas of coffee, prune and green pepper. Tannins are refined to tannic (decant for 30 min) and the finish is medium to long. It is good now, but will get better as it ages; drink 2014-2018. My impression: NICE, 88.5 pts – a recommended buy and a good value for $14. Tasted Sept/11.

Tasted Oct. 2012. Actually took it back country camping (in a non-glass container) where the temperature dropped to about 10-12C the night we drank it. Despite be a bit restrained, still came through with deep and juicy dark fruits and sweet earth notes backed by firm tannins. Definitely was a huge hit to have over the standard camping box wine fare.
