Nicely balanced and smooth.
I'm not very experienced with port, so I'll defer to Mr. Lawrason's score. I found this colheita to be lovely. It sits tawny in the glass with orange and coral hues. I get hints of apricot and honey with a slight medicinal tone. A delectable evening quaff - this sweet heat is a treat. Grip it n' sip it!. March 2013.
Quite different having spent so long in wood.
This single vintage tawny is most comparable to a 20 year old tawny port. Flavours range from dried fruit to toffee and butterscotch. The alcohol is well-balanced as is the sweetness. I do find this a bit rougher and shorter-finishing than , say, a Taylor's 20 year old. Still, a fine tawny. Tasted Dec 2014.
