This was an intriguing wine. I have enjoyed this in past vintages, especially the tendency to reflect an Old-World style. The 2009 has a deep plum/prune fruit on the nose, which follows on the palate. Nothing too complicated, decently rich yet smooth tannins. Food-friendly, also good on its own. NOTE -- This is not a Malbec. The grape is Bonarda, at one time Argentina's most widely planted grape.
