This Riesling is made from grapes harvested from vineyards that are on 60 degree slopes! The picture of the vineyard height makes me nauseous. The wine doesn’t. It’s like eating a Sweet Tart while licking a 9-volt battery. This wine is sweet and spritzy, has a really cool mouthfeel, and over-stimulates your saliva production making you want to try it again and again. Good match with spicy thai food and a Gravol (if your scared of heights).
This is liquid sunshine - bright, sprightly, rich, opulent, with more than a hint of the looked-for diesel aroma. The slate minerality comes through and offers an acid backbone to all the rich fruitiness. All told a well made wine but for my taste a tad overly sweet (but still consistent with many kabinetts). Drink as an apertif as the sweetness would tend to overwhelm most foods, except perhaps certain Thai dishes.
