Drinking this in 2013 and the fruit has toned down a bit to give way to a more balanced while still relatively intense profile of dark fruit, mocha and smokey spice. The finish is quite dense and persistent but tinged with a bit of heat from the almost 15% alcohol. Very drinkable though not necessarily a tremendous value.

This is not a brambly style Zinfandel, but a juicy fruit driven version. Delicious and approachable, it has a full palate of blackberries and strawberry compote, accented with cedar, spice, black pepper and smoky nuances in the long finish.
