Hardie's 2009 County pinot is his best yet in my view. It spent 11 months in small barrels, of which 40% was new,...

This is a very typical County wine – slim, racy and piquant. It has a lifted perfumed nose of black raspberry with...

A Canadian cellar candidate, I love it. There is a tremendous amount of experience inside a bottle of Norman Hardie wine and it shows through a complexity that invites one to think they are sipping from an older-world bottle. At the moment, this Prince Edward County Pinot is showing a pronounced mix of earth and red fruit in addition to that typical Pinot cherry acidity. Give it a few years in the cellar to let it come together and enjoy with baked ham anytime after 2013. (Northof9finewine, April 2011)

2010 Norman Hardy County Unfiltered Pinot Noir: There is no way to describe the nose on this wine except “seductive”! Earthy, with sweet cherries, raspberries and plenty of spice make for a treat for your nose. The palate follows closely with raspberries, cherries, sweet spice, and vanilla, transitioning to mild notes of sour cherry and cranberry. Crisp acidity and smooth but present tannins carry you into a mild cherry-cranberry finish. Will age gracefully over the next few years but I would enjoy this now with some lamb or the even beef stroganoff that I paired it with. 11.5%

This is still going strong; quite amazing given how young the vines must have been when this was made. Pale translucent ruby in colour. Absolutely stunning nose of berries and violets with a bit of earth thrown in for good measure. Quite round and only light to med bodied, but full fruit flavours and a persistent finish. Lovely PN all in all; another winner from Norm Hardie and certainly justifies the price.

Great Pinot nose that offers cherries, vanilla oak with hints of earth. Light bodied and elegant but with noticeable fine tannins. Nice tension on the palate between sweet cherries and sour cranberries. Finishes dry and tart with nice mouth watering acidity.
