This is a solid, tasty big red. It pours deep ruby black. The nose is packed with ripe black cherry, blackcurrant...

I made the mistake of serving this with Easter dinner, when nobody is paying attention to the wine. The first glass was merely very good, but the second glass brought out amazing slightly spicy, chocolatey, and other flavours I can't really describe, but all of them good. Great finish, too. Unfortunately, after that it was all gone before I could hide the bottle.

This is a truly great wine.

Great example - lots of body and good from first blush to finish. Lots of berries and tobacco.

The region of Montepulciano D'abruzzo lies due east of Rome where the main grape is Montepulciano. Not to be confused with the Tuscan region Vino Nobile di Montepulciano which is a wine made with Sangiovese grape. Hey is that Jude eating a Lindt bar at Cinnabon? It smells like sweet cinnamon and dark chocolate and glass after glass it gets better, better, better. Don't carry the world upon your shoulders and let this under your skin with a pepperoni and bacon pizza.

The 2007 Valle Reale Montepulciano D'abruzzo is a medium bodied, fruity wine, with appealing aromas of dark fruit, red currant and with woody notes of cedar and oak. It has tannins that are refined to tannic (decant for 30 min or more), somewhat sharp acidity and a medium to long finish. Drink now or cellar for 5-10 years. My impression: NICE, 88.5 pts - nicely crafted Montepulciano here, give this one a try. Tasted March/12.
