This is a nice wine from southern Rhone, France. Medium-bodied, with tastes of plum, fig and lavender. Easy to drink. Goes well with BBQ. A nice choice for wine of the month. Good value for the price.
I just loved this wine! I opened a bottled recently at a girls night (I think too many bottles were opened that night). For the money, it's a great juicy gem. In fact, I purchased 4 more bottles a few days ago to offer to my guests at my birthday party next week. Happy Birthday to me!
Tasted May 2011.
needs at least 30 mins of decanting, up to an hour is best.
the finish is excellent (once opened up).
Typical dark fruit dominates with this blend.
overall quite a nice wine, especially for $15.
86-88? May 2011-good yet not an amazing Cote du Rhone. had better for the price.high level of acidity (a bit too high to my taste).Medium body. red currant. plums.ready to drink.
Med ruby to purple colour with medium intensity on the nose. Light oak with egg plant, plum, mushroom & fig. You can definitely make out the Grenache. Taste is dry, med+ tannins & acidity, long length & a bit austere. Taste is similar to nose. Wine Spectator gave this a 90, but they didn't try this bottle. Needs to go with food like vegetable lasagna.
