This has all of the characteristics of a great Syrah (brilliant purple colour, dark chocolate, pepper & spice), save one: price. It is very, very hard to believe that you are drinking a $15 bottle. It is a wine worthy of saving for a special event, yet at a price that allows you to enjoy it on any occasion.
I think the best illustration of how much I enjoyed the wine, is the fact that I bought not one, but two cases. I might add, that this is the first time I have ever bought two cases of the same wine.
Tremendous value ****
This wine is a true sipper and the best I have had to date. A very full berry complex taste that left me in search of more bottles at this amazing price before it's gone. Perhaps a bit bright and young but that is also part of the vibrant character of this wine.
needs a decant to open up.
Incredible value
2nd bottle.... Only Makes me wish I bought 4.... Damn yum

The 2009 Concha Y Toro Maycas Del Limari Reserva Syrah is medium to full bodied, with nicely fruity aromas of strawberry yogurt, prune and chocolate. Tannins are subtle to refined (decant for 30 min) and the finish is medium to long. This wine is still quite young, but should evolve quite nicely. Drink 2013 - 2016 and beyond. My impression: NICE, 89.5 pts - I would highly recommend this wine to anyone who is able to age it and this is why: it is quite nice already, its complexity will only amplify, and the price point is quite frankly unbeatable (in Ontario). This wine reminds me of French Syrah - most recently the 2007 Domaine Belle Les Pierrelles Crozes Hermitage released on February 8th LCBO#41921 for $23. Tasted March/11.
