A bargain at 15 bucks-buy a case and let the enjoyment begin ;:^)
At just $15 this wine is a great value from the LCBO.
Cherry, fruit forward nose and palate. Good acisity and supporting tannins resulting in a nicely balanced wine.
Very nice. Cherry and earthy with a smooth and lengthy finish. At this price, I hope to pick up more to keep for a year or two. But not too long - A rough translation of the back label reads : This wine will not last a lifetime in the bottle...Do not keep this bottle for a better occasion that never comes ... Decide to have it at its best and enjoy!
Welcome to my mouth you easy drinker you. This Rioja doesn't need a complicated partner. It goes well with Tuesdays nights, anything off the grill and that new Radiohead song. It's 5 years old and costs 15 bucks! You can't lose. Buy 6 before I get 'em all.
The 2006 Bodegas Lan Crianza is medium bodied, with integrated, nicely aromatic notes of cherry, red currant, cedar and faint leather. Tannins are refined (decant for 15 to 30 min), has a lively acidity and the finish is medium. It is ready to drink now or cellar for up to 5 years. My impression: NICE, 88.5 pts and a recommended wine. Tasted May/11 in Spain, where it retails for about €7 in stores and €18.5 at a restaurant.
Yet another fine example of Spanish Rioja. The term Crianza indicates only one year spent in oak and one year in the bottle prior to release of this wine to the public. A deep ruby red colour with hints of raspberry and cherry on the nose; silky smooth red fruit and a touch of spice on the palate with no hard edges whatsoever. (northof9finewine, March 2011)
Sour cherry and church wood aromas, smooth texture, elegant and uncomplicated. Ready to drink at $15.00, a great buy.
The memories of Spain came back to me. Suttle and soft to the palate. This is an old style of spainish wine making. Great value. Will further for 2-3 more years. Salute!
