Quite deeply coloured for Barolo, which belies Oberto's more (though not completely) modern approach. Some shadings of vanilla from French oak barrles is apparent, yet the red cherry fruit and floral aromas remain. The notorious nebbiolo tannin has soften and the wine seems to be at its peak.
