Wow! This is an excellent value. This bottle easily competes with bottles twice even 3 times its price. Smells of blueberry, herbs and chocolate and has a spicy fruit taste with hints of vanilla. I will be buying a case at this price.
Plums, raspberries, herbs, and dark chocolate on the nose. Juicy and fruity with soft tannins and a lingering aftertaste. Very well balanced and medium-to-full bodied. Fantastic value.
I was not expecting such a subtle and smooth ride with this wine. Excellent value. I will definitely add this to my 'must purchase again' list. Enjoyed with some fine cheese and crackers Sept 2011.

Great value for $10.95 but could cellar for a couple of years.
A spicey oak finish follows a a moderate amount of blackberry and cherry vanilla. Great for the money, but will probably lose the jagged edges in a year or more, Good bargain
Good Value
This is one interesting wine and our first Portuguese wine. Initial taste fairly smooth, followed by a full bodied lingering finish with a lot of almost unrefined weight. My wife would go a little further finding the finish slighly harsh around the edges. Best suited for a heavy dish like a rich stew or a roast. That said, you may not find a better wine for $9.95 for a very long time.
The 2007 Catedral Reserva is light to medium bodied, fruity wine with nice aromas of yogurty prune. Tannins are subtle to refined (decant for 15 min) and the finish is medium and a bit sweet. Short cork hints at short term cellaring. My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL, 86 pts - easy drinking, food friendly, good value for large parties where wine is not at the centre. Tasted Jan/12.
