Oh Rocca you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blew my mind, hey Rocca. Pasta night, Tuesday night, Charcuterie night. Nuff said. If you need a Chianti in your wine fridge, buy it. If you don’t have a wine fridge, buy one.
The 2006 vintage is said to be one of the greatest vintages for Sangiovese in last 15 years. The grapes reached optimum ripeness with ideal sugar levels.
This beautiful dark deep red is 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and was aged 2 years in French oak barrels.
Demonstrates complex aromas of black cherry and plum, dried herbs, cedar, vanilla with tobacco notes.
Well balanced on palate with silky texture and concentrated black fruit, herbs and spices.
Finish is warm and pleasant, very good length. Ready to drink now, don’t cellar.
Tasted January, 2013.
