Gran Coronas is one of those 'hit or miss' wines in our cellar; sometimes it works beautifully and other times, I'm not quite as thrilled about it. It's a food wine though so I don't recommend that you sip this one on its own. Instead, pair it with a rich red meat dish and expect dark fruit, leather, chocolate and a touch of smoke surrounded by normally, very smooth tannins. (northof9finewine.com, Feb 2011)
This is a good cab at a good price. Tannins are smooth and fruit flavours are intense but not overpowering. Well balanced.
Any Torres wine is a good option to buy and try. This one is a Reserva - aged 15 months in oak - and is a dark deep colour with a tobacco nose. Pretty tannic - you may want to grill meat with it.
Nice wine with black fruit on the nose but a little to much heat. Nice black olives and dark chocolate on the palate but a little out of balance because of the noted heat. Nice finish. Tasted Nov 2013.
