Watching Tree Vineyard. This excellent Chardonnay has an elegant, smoky, oak-influenced, and savoury nose of baked apple/pear, lemon citrus, and buttery aromas with undertones of flinty minerality adding further complexity. On the dry, medium-full bodied palate it has delicious ripe pear, apple, smoky mineral, orchard fruit & lemon citrus flavours, plus touches of vanilla spice. It's supported by fresh, well-balanced acidity, while the very nice flavour replays taper to flinty mineral & vanilla spice notes on the long, savoury finish, with excellent length. Tasted June 2024.
