Michel Rolland's Argentinian venture is consistently a great value and makes for a very reasonable cellaring pick....

some wine nerds my disrespect this wine b/c of it's make up and mass production claiming it does not reflect a sense of place...but what it does give you is pure drinking enjoyment...really well made, richly textured and amazing structure..this wine is a big boy...

Interesting blend. Full bodied, quite complex on the palate. Big, but a bit contrived. That sounds pretentious but what I mean is that it tastes over-manipulated, like it's been designed to be "interesting". Nevertheless I liked it despite it tasting a bit manufactured. If there were cola tastings I'd still give Pepsi a 90. Most people at a dinner table will enjoy this..and of course that's the point here isn't it?

The 2008 Clos De Los Siete was originally released on April 31st, 2011 and then re-released on December 10th, 2011. It quickly disappeared on the first release (I purchased one bottle - one I review here). This wine is medium to full bodied, fruity to INTEGRATED, with nice notes of overripe cherry/black cherry on the nose and blueberry and subtle oak on the palate. It has a nice structure with refined tannins (decant for 30 min) and a medium, silky finish. Drink it now only to get an impression of how it will evolve in the next 4-5 years after which it should drink nicely for another 5 or more years. My impression: NICE (not there yet), 89.5 pts - I would recommend purchasing a couple of bottles only to see how they evolve in the next 5+ years. Tasted Jan/12.
