From 3 sites at different elevations near the lake in the Beamsville Bench appellation, this has a fresh, medium-high intensity nose of ripe red cherry, currant, peppery, and savoury spice aromas layered over mushroom and earthy notes. The crunchy, medium to medium-full bodied palate has lovely peppery spice, cherry, currant, black tea, and savoury spice flavours. Acids are succulent and well-balanced, while the smooth tannins are finely textured. Earthy and mushroom notes in a savoury profile linger on the long, memorable finish. Tasted May 2025.
