the 2001 vintage. Quite deeply coloured for 14 year old wine, and through an almost vintage port-like amount of sendiment. Somewhat lean red fruit with sour cherry and currant flavours. Clearly aged in French oak barrels (which I confirmed after having the wine). Seems to try to be both modern and traditional, and doesn't quite hit the balance A very good wine just not a great one.
