This is a full bodied Chianti. Spicy cloves and red berry compote on the nose with the red berries preforming well on the palate accompained by old world undertones of cigar and leather.

Okay to drink on its own - but the full body of this wine preforms well up against a hand-made thin crust pizza with mild pepperoni or sausage and red pepper penni.

A great wine at great value.

Wine Spectator gave the 2007 Frescobaldi Nipozzano Chianti Rùfina Riserva a rating of 93, so I decided to give it a try, especially that LCBO had it on sale for $2 off. It is light to medium bodied with FRUITY to integrated notes of raspberry, cherry, pine and vanilla. Tannins are refined (decant for longer than 1 hour for it to really open up) and the finish is medium to long. I don't believe the wine will benefit from any further aging and should last till 2015 if not longer. My impression: NICE, 89 pts - (not as good as the 2006 vintage). Even though enjoyable, at $22, I would not recommend this wine. Tasted Nov/10.

It an average wine. I personally find it rather pricey for what you get. I much rather have a wine from Piedmonte. You can have a lovely Barbera D'Alba or D'Asti (DOCG) for often less the 16$ and they were better. Chianti wine in my opinon are over rated and over priced
