Merlot, Cab Sauv and Petit Verdot, in descending order. This is a lovely red, with complex ripe fruit, firm tannin, well dialed-in oak, and long finish, Seems to be in a nice drinking place now, but I suspect that this should hold another 3-5yrs. A real Bordeaux, with no over-extraction or over-oaking. Tasted Sep 2024.
There is a slight hint of bricking on the rim and the wine has a garnet core. I could pick up aromas of bark, blueberry, red fruit, cassis, and leather. The flavours were a bit watery with hints of tree bark and menthol and had a medium-plus finish. Surprisingly, these green notes paired well with my homemade Caesar Salad, which has melted anchovies in the dressing. - June 2024
