The medium+ intensity nose is a bit quiet, offering maturing and slightly reductive aromas of dark fruited, blackberry, and black plum surrounding a core of savoury wet earth and sandalwood. On the dry, medium+ bodied palate it is a touch spicy with delicious dark fruited, blackberry, savoury wet earth, and wood spice flavours. Acids are juicy and well-balanced, while the smooth tannins are well-integrated with some chalky textured grip. Savoury earth and mineral notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted May 2024.

I guess that this must have been a re-release by Vintages given that the WA notes are from late '22/early '23. In any case, this wine is still bright and lively, a bit lighter than Mencias from Bierzo, but a fine, concentrated wine with lovely red fruit and only the barest hint of oak. Still very much alive, I'd suggest drinking over the next year to capture that lovely bright fruit. Really good wine here. Tasted Aug 2025.
