Tasted Jan 2012. The oak has integrated very nicely. Gorgeous aromas of red berry, vanilla and tobacco with a hint of mint. Velvety mouthfeel with just a bit of tannic grip and mouthwatering acidity. The alcohol is still somewhat evident. Medium-long finish. Great value.

I probably should have waited intil next week to buy this wine as it goes on sale ($2 off between Oct 11 and Nov 7th)

Good wine for the cooler season. Interesting complex notes of cherry fruit, raspbery, and secondary notes of leather, oak, cedar, and spice.

Smooth and round. Very easy to drink. Nice long finish. Buy a few when they go on sale.

The term Crianza indicates that the wine has spent a minimum of two years aging and one of those years must have been in oak barrels or vats. This example is deep garnet in the glass showing aromas of black cherry and a faint earthiness. The taste is ‘juicy’ and filled with a combination of raspberry, cherry, and spice with just a touch of mint on the finish. Tasted Nov 2011.

A nice example of a Tempranillo from the Rioja region of Spain. There's an earthy, dried herb quality to the aroma with lots of dark fruit and a little leather. It tastes mainly of the deep berry fruit with nice structure (acid and tannin); there's a gentle mouth-coating feel from the tannins that gets released with ample acid. A pretty good food wine!

I love tempranillo-based wines. I drank this one two days ago.

The price was certainly right, $9.99 in Florida.

While very soft, I felt this one lacked a little bite. It lacked acidity.

While "goodish", it did not reach good.

A bit of a deception, as I usually like Montecillo wines.
