This is an exceptional white wine for the price. The nose is not distinctive but the light pear taste is inviting and leaves a smooth finish on the palate.
Worth stocking up on this one. Tasted September 2010.
This is my lovely wife's favourite wine and I'll level with you - I like it too. In fact, this one puts many $15 bottles I've tasted to shame. Great citrus notes and a nice balance of sweetness and acidity. The Gewürztraminer adds an element of spice to the sweetness of the Riesling.
Great value here. The Gewurz really shows on the nose but the Riesling really makes an interesting balance on the palate, making this less fat, and more versatile, than a pure varietal Gewurztraminer would normally be.
Had a chicken & sweet potato croquette with this wine. Their was a bouquet of pear and apricot according to my wife, but I thought it had a nose of Mellon and apricot. The body had a simple but flavorful honey and apricot taste, with a slight slice on the finish. I like this one, but the wife thought it was ok (too sweet).
