The perfumed, medium to medium-high intensity nose offers very appealing currant, cassis, herbs, licorice, medicinal, and tobacco aromas that also come through on the dry, medium-full bodied palate. It's all supported by fresh acidity and grainy, grippy, and structured tannins. Flavour replays along with touches of oak linger on the long finish. Tasted Apr. 2022.
Lean, black licorice/herb driven Cabernet Franc from Tawse with a touch of oak. Not much fruit on the nose which is disappointing. Also doesn't have that violet aroma I get vintage after vintage. A year or two in the bottle perhaps.
It's a different story on the palate. Lean, acidic, true to its varietal character. Great drinkability.
