This is the bottle of wine that got me into white wine again. I had the pleasure of drinking this at Peller estates and the sommelier paired it with a lobster bisque as part of a prix fixe that paired a wine to each course. It was served well-chilled and what stood out for me was the buttery taste, despite being unoaked (which I wrongly assumed would make it dry and tight). We took a second bottle home with us.
Unfortunately I probably won't drink this chardonnay again because that night at Peller Estates actually was the same night my wife left me.
2009 vintage. Crisp, fresh lime, citrus and vanilla aromas. Lively acidity with tart lemon/lime on the palate and some minerality showing through. Medium-full bodied with lemon and spice on the finish. Tasted Jan/2013.
