Noticed this one on a recent trip to the LCBO, and having had some positive experiences with SA Pinots, decided to grab a bottle, hoping for an under-the-radar bargain. Alas, no bargain here, and certainly no velvet. It is is marginally recognizable as Pinot, with a nose of cherry cough drops and a considerable dose of earthiness. On the palate, it's rough and not ready... it should smooth out a bit in time, but will likely never be memorable. There are better inexpensive Pinots (hello, Cono Sur) available.
