this is our standard red, after trying about 20 different recommended 'value priced reds' we chose this as our 'go to ' wine....yum, and not too syruppy or stinky. just a bit of tartness to make it interesting. I agree with Tyler Philp on this one!!
Blackberries, prunes, plums, herbs, and pepper on the nose. Ripe fruit on the palate with some earthy undertones. Excellent value.
Nice color and very tart nose. Definitely get the berry flavors at the start, lengthens into a touch of earthiness going down. I'd say this is a pretty good value sipper, light body (but not weak) and exceptionally easy to drink. Recommended.
Someone once told me that when the fancy $$$ bottles are empty at ritzy Rosedale functions, they refill them with Farnese and no one can tell the difference... fact or fiction, you decide but this is a very good bottle of wine and for the money, simply an unbeatable deal. Expect a smooth, medium bodied feel with lots of fruit. (northof9finewine, Feb 2011)
Lovely burgundy colour, slight nose of chocolate, cherry and spice.
Medium fruit body with slight pleasently bitter and earthy finish.
