Deeply coloured ruby but a hint of garnet now appearing at the edges. A fairly expressive nose showing dark fruit (cassis, blackberry and blueberry) and oak spice. The palate shows similar fruit, but more dominant oak expressed as mocha, vanilla and smoky coffee. It's full bodied with some alcohol warmth and with slightly grainy yet ripe tannin. Medium acidity provides balance and there's decent length. Overall a well made entry level Napa Cab at a relatively good price given Napa's inflated prices. August 2023.
