Malivoire has long set the standard for Gamay in Ontario. But this one is special. There is a complexity that one occasionally finds in very high-end Pinot Noirs from North West USA, or equivalents. Here you are treated royally, from the nose that greets you with delicious red fruit, to the very lengthy finish, via the subtle presence of the oak and cherries in the palate. This is a winner!
Nicely mature with dried berry and a touch of leather. Still lots of juicy acidity and touches of breadiness and forest floor. Quite delicious. Tasted August 2024
