Aromas of cherry and oak. If you let the wine breath for a while that oak turns into a nice cigar box aroma.
Nicely balanced wine with a good finish. The cigar box aroma that I mentioned is part of its flavor, I enjoyed that.
I always find Rioja Reserva is one of the best wine per dollar that you can get.
I recommend to decant for 30 minutes to help bring out the aromas.
Tasted December 2020
The medium-high intensity nose is pleasantly savoury and mature in profile with sweet spice, sandalwood, and earthy aromas alongside dried berry, cherry, and touches of dried floral. It's medium+ bodied on the savoury palate with more earthy, sandalwood, sweet spice, and some dried cherry and floral flavours. Acids are well-balanced, while the fine-grained tannins have a subtle textured grip. Well-balanced throughout with lovely savoury, sandalwood, and dried cherry notes lingering on the long, slightly chalky finish. Tasted Apr/2021.
