Love to see more obscure native Italian grape varieties come through the LCBO. This fox's tail from Campania scores on complexity, balance and length. A lot going on here for the price, with aromas and flavours of citrus, stone fruit, honey, spice, iodine, mineralty and that signature Italian white wine element: almond. It's texturally pleasing with a leesy weightiness. The 14% abv adds to the weight and structure and provides a late palate warmth. Length is excellent. Great value. July 2020.
Made with 100% Coda di Volpe, this is fairly quiet on the nose, but the medium-full bodied palate is concentrated and structured with plenty of character. Stone fruits, white peach, saline, and fine mineral flavours abound with very good acidity and length on the finish. Tasted Oct/2019. Score: 88+ pts
This wine had some hints of stone fruit. Medium bodied. A nice acidic and dry taste. A finish that I could best describe as tasting like grape fruit.
Overall, not a bad wine for under $18.
