Is well into collateral, ancillary development. Retains a verve in acidity and twang, similar in style to ’09 and ’11...

Rosewood is one of the few Niagara producers making semillon, but perhaps more should consider this grape. The nose...

Rosewood's 2008 semillon is a mid-weight, pleasantly sippable wine with green and red apple flavours and just a hint...

A rare 100% Semillon. To make one is an achievement. Due to high acid great with vegetable based dishes, and grilled seafood. I enjoy the peachy tone on this vs a zesty Sauv Blanc. Has rounder mouth feel too.

The 2008 Rosewood Estates Semillon, first single varietal vintage started by Luke Orwinski, has deep aromas of wet stone minerality and light citrus on the nose and light honey-dew melon on the palate. It is a medium bodied, dry wine with good acidity and a medium finish. Drink with food or enjoy simply on its own; drink now-2015 (cork enclosure). Tasted at Rosewood Semillon Vertical Tasting (http://grapeselections.com/semillon-vertical-tasting-rosewood-estates/) in June/13 and rated it 89-90 pts.

Tasting the 09. Beautiful Straw colour with honeydew melon, apple, sweetgrass, citrus on the nose. Lemon, melon, pear, snow peas on the palate. Juicy Riesling-like acidity with a mild sour herbaceous like a Sauv Blanc, floral honey notes on the finish. Silky, gorgeous wine, changes as it opens up. Enough acidity and fruit to hold to 2013-14 or longer. Medium soft cheeses, Gouda or crispy skin striped bass. - May '11
