What a lovely, balanced Nero D'avola here from Maccari. Certainly ripe, leaning toward the red fruit spectrum, with hints of smoke and herbs, yet quite light on its feet. Tannin is sufficient to provide backbone but is not overpowering, and there is vibrant acidity making this very food friendly. Just a damn delicious and easy bottle of wine to drink, Hope to see the next vintage on the shelves soon. Tasted June 2020.
